Red plugs (7.5 x 30mm) take 3.5 – 5.0mm screws (No. 6 – 10 gauge), making them ideal for everyday jobs such as shelf brackets, curtain poles, towel rails, mirrors and coat hooks.

FAQs
What screws fit red wall plugs?
Red plugs fit screws from 3.5 – 5.0mm diameter, which is No. 6 – 10 gauge in imperial sizes.
What size drill bit do I need for red wall plugs?
Use a 5.5mm masonry drill bit and drill at least 35mm deep. In softer materials, a slightly smaller bit can give a tighter grip.
Can I use these plugs in plasterboard?
No. These plugs are designed for solid walls such as concrete, brick and block. For plasterboard, use a dedicated plasterboard fixing.
How do I fit a wall plug?
Drill a 5.5mm hole at least 35mm deep, clean out the dust, push or tap the plug in until it sits flush with the wall, then drive the screw through your fixture into the plug.
What do the wall plug colours mean?
The colours show the size: yellow is the smallest, then red, brown and blue for the largest. Each colour is matched to a range of screw sizes, so you can pick the right plug quickly.
